Function As A Whole

Unnamed (3)
As osteopaths, we use our hands to help people function as a whole.  One of the ways we do this, according to Dr. Jealous, is “to help establish a point of Rest or Neutral around which the Whole can come to balance.”  This idea of establishing a neutral point of balance is one I have been working with, for my patients and for myself, in my practice over many years.

In osteopathy or any other profession, it is important to choose good mentors and colleagues.  I am fortunate to have an osteopathic colleague working with me in my office.  Susan Boudakian, D.O. is a U.S. trained D.O. like myself, whose residency training is in Pediatrics.  I am delighted to have Dr. Boudakian in the office devoting her osteopathic practice to the treatment of children.

Whatever the disease process, whatever the injured part, the goal is always to help bring that part back into relationship with the whole.  One important part of an osteopathic evaluation is taking a thorough history.  As a person’s story unfolds, previously unseen doorways to healing may open.
